Balearia a company focused on expansion and growth, Balearia are continuously working on future projects such as the incorporation of new lines and the enlargement of its fleet. In October 2002, Balearia launched the super fast high-speed ferry Ramon Llull, built at the shipyard Rodriquez, which entered operation in June 2003. Following this in 2003 Balearia created the Nautas Al-Maghreb ferry company to run a new ferry route between Tangier and Algeciras, as this route would be operated by a super fast ferry an impressive crossing time of under an hour was created.
In 2004 the Balearia fleet welcomed two super fast catamarans - Nixe I and Nixe II. The first of which inaugurated the Denia-Ibiza-Formentera route in august 2004.
