Aberdeen Port Ferry Overview
Aberdeen Ferry Terminal is located within the historic city of Aberdeen on the North East coast of Scotland. The port is a very convenient port of departure, being located just 125 miles from Edinburgh and 145 miles from Glasgow. Aberdeen is served well by all forms of public transport. Aberdeen Harbour is important as the largest in the north of Scotland and as a ferry route to Orkney and Shetland. Established in 1136, it has been referred to as the oldest business in the UK.
Aberdeen Harbour is one of Britain's busiest ports, & is now the principal commercial port for Northern Scotland. Handling over 9,000 visiting ships & approximately 4 million tonnes of cargo a year valued at approx. £1.5 billion, the Port is also Scotland's main East Coast ferry port & port-of-call for cruise ships.
Aberdeen is Scotland's third most populous city and one of Scotland's 32 local government council areas. Aberdeen is home to the Scotland's largest national park, a dramatically imposing coastline and a vibrant city centre. |
