Brindisi Port Ferry Overview
Brindisi is an ancient city in the Italian region of Apulia, the capital of the province of Brindisi. The city’s name derives from Brunda meaning, “The Head of a Deer”, inspired by the shape of Brindisi’s natural harbour.
Brindisi has a wonderful natural harbour that, thanks to its conformation and geographic position, has always been known as one of the safest of Adriatic Sea. It is located in a wide funnel-shaped bay wedged into the coast.
Brindisi has always been considered as the Gate to the East, and has been for decades the privileged point for binding Italy with destinations across Turkey and Greece, as well as destinations in the Adriatic.
In recent years, Brindisi's port has been redeveloped, creating new docks and new room ashore to be used for freight and passengers. Most passenger services run from the medium port which is mainly dedicated to commercial traffic, the docks are named Costa Morena and Punta delle Terrare. |
