Esbjerg Port Ferry Overview
The popular Danish coastal town of Esbjerg is located approximately 175 miles from the country's capital, Copenhagen. DFDS Seaways offer a direct ferry connection to Esbjerg from Harwich in England with regular ferry crossings between the two ports.
Esbjerg is particularly popular with tourists. To underline Esbjerg's popularity it has been twice voted city of the year (1997 and 2006). A popular fishing town Esbjerg is one of Denmark's busiest cities. The bustling city centre offers numerous shops, restaurants, bars and cafes and is a must for anybody visiting the area. Other tourist attractions include a Maritime museum and the "original" Legoland, a particular favorite with younger visitors.
The city of Esbjerg is a large transport hub for both rail and road traffic, and is an important port for Danish North Sea oil offshore activity. It has an airport, and is a center for machine building. The municipality has a number of museums, theatres (staging opera, ballet and drama), and several libraries. |
