Rimini Port Ferry Overview
Rimini, in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna, is the centerpiece of Italy's Adriatic Riviera. Every year thousands of tourists flock to Rimini for its long sandy beaches, mediterranean climate, food and culture, and its tourist-friendly philosophy.
Rimini is a city in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy and capital city of the Province of Rimini. It is located on the Adriatic Sea, near the coast between the rivers Marecchia (the ancient Ariminus) and Ausa (Aprusa). Coast navigation and fishing are traditional industries and, together with Riccione, it is probably the most famous seaside resort on the Adriatic Riviera.
Of all the towns on the coast Rimini is the biggest and has most to offer. The city dates back to the 1 st century before Christ, and the Arch of Augustus is one of the monuments stemming from Roman times. In the historic centre you should also have a look at the Palazzo della Podestà and the Palazzo Arengo, the Fish Market and the Fontana della Pigna. They are all located on the main square (Piazza Cavour). Other sights include the Castel Sismondo, the Roman Bridge of Tiberius, the Tempio Malatestiano, and the Museo Civico housing works from the fourteenth century Riminese school. |
