Part of the Stena Line Ferry Fleet Stena Adventurer

Stena Line has recently spent a staggering £16 million to the tune of almost £14 million. Over 3 million of this budget was spent on Stena Adventurer which saw saw a complete revamp of deck 8 on the ship to include a new 202-seater Stena Plus lounge incorporating a family area with Internet facilities, wifi, a business center, a new shop, "Teen Town" area, a Met Bar & Grill, a Curious George Play Area, a reading room and new washroom facilities all being fitted.

The introduction of Stena Adventurer increased passenger capacity on Stena Line’s Holyhead – Dublin Port route by 50%. Stena Adventurer operates in tandem with the HSS Stena Explorer. This enables passengers to choose between a high speed service or a standard ferry service offering a wider range of services and facilities.

Stena Adventurer can hold up to 1,500 passengers on decks, offering passengers first class on-board facilities including cinema, casino, restaurants, lounges and children’s play areas. Passengers can also choose to stay in cabins with 148 luxury cabins available.

The Stena Adventurer’s four MAN B&W diesel engines each provide 6480 kW and provide a service speed of 22 knots. Twin KaMeWa bow thrusts are also fitted and this, together with her twin 65 degree angle Becker rudders and twin controllable pitch, high skew KaMeWa screws, make the Stena Adventurer a very maneuverable ship.

Stena Line has now started accepting foot passengers on the Stena Adventurer. Up until 2008 the Holyhead - Dublin route was a drive-on service only
