She sails currently between Genoa and Olbia. Excellent was built, and entered service in 1998. Excellent is a large cruise ferry and can hold nearly 2,300 passengers and 760 cars. The vessel was the fourth new ship of Grimaldi Group's Grandi Navi Veloci fleet.

Grandi Navi Veloci's Excellent was built in 1998 at the Fincantieri shipyeard of Sestri Ponente. The Excellent offers superb facilities and services that you would usually expect to find onboard cruise ships. Facilities include a choice of restaurants and bars, a shopping facilities, a cinema, swimming pool and sundeck, jaquzzi baths, a whirlpool, and an arcade. Excellent has 429 cabins .
