Belfast Port Ferry Overview

Belfast is the capital city of Northern Ireland. From Belfast Ferry port, you can easily reach the city centre and the numerous shops and shopping centers. The Port of Belfast is located at the centre of Northern Ireland’s largest industrial and commercial zone with two thirds of the region’s major industrial employers located within 10 miles of the Port.

Belfast has a large port which is used for exporting and importing goods, and for passenger ferry services. Stena Line run regular routes to Stranraer in Scotland using its HSS (High Speed Service) vessel, Lynx III with a crossing time of around 90 minutes and its conventional vessels, Stena Voyager & Stena Caledonia with a crossing time of around 3hrs 45 minutes. Norfolkline Ferries run a passenger ferry to and from Liverpool, with a crossing time of 8 hours and a seasonal sailing to Douglas, Isle of Man is operated by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.

With almost two million passengers and half a million freight units annually, Belfast is Northern Ireland's busiest ferry port. The frequency of sailings and choice of destinations offered by regular shipping services operating from the Port enables Belfast to provide flexible transport options to meet the needs of Northern Ireland’s importers and exporters and the travelling public.

Belfast Port Directions

Stena Line Terminal - Located at Westbank Road, Belfast. Exit Junction 1 of the M2 motorway. The Stena terminal is clearly signposted from the motorway and other routes.

Norfolk Line Terminal - Situated close to Stena Line's New Terminal. Use directions above.

The Steam Packet Terminal - Again, reached via the M1. At the Broadway Roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A12 Westlink, heading to the M2/M3, and continue to follow the A12 for 2.1 miles, then take the A2 and follow it about a mile, and you will see signs for the Port and the Steam Packet Terminal.

By Train - The nearest station to all terminals is Great Victoria Street Station in the centre of Belfast.

Belfast Port Parking

Short term parking facilities for set down and pick up are available at the Steam Packet terminal. Longer term parking is available in a Pay and Display car park operated by Belfast Harbour Commissioners. Both long and short term parking is available at the Stena Line terminal. You must keep your ticket with you and pay before returning to your vehicle. A pay station is located in the arrivals area.

Belfast Ferry Port offers a wide range of facilities spread across it's three ferry terminals. The Belfast Port complex offers a dedicated departure lounge with easy embarkation access for foot passengers, a coffee bar, covered check in area for car passengers, an express boarding lane and ATM facilities. At the Isle of Man Steam Packet Terminal refreshments are available in the departure lounge. All terminals offer toilets and washroom facilities.
