Heysham Port Ferry Overview
Heysham is a large coastal village near Lancaster in the county of Lancashire, England. Overlooking Morecambe Bay.
The Port of Heysham is one of a number of ferry ports in the United Kingdom that provides crossings to the Port of Douglas on the Isle of Man. Heysham is the gateway to one of England's favorite seaside resorts, Morecambe, and one of its oldest cities, Lancaster. And the Lancashire landscape is a real treat for walkers, with its rivers, fells and sleepy villages with lively pubs.
Heysham Ferry Port lies at the west end of Heysham Village and is easily located from the A683 and A589. The Heysham ferry port is well signposted on the approach. The port is open 24 hours a day for both Passenger and Freight services.
Heysham Ferry Port was built in 1900 and today Heysham's only passenger services are the frequent sailings to Douglas on the Isle of Man with Isle of Man Steam Packet Ferries. |
