The Liverpool to Douglas ferry route connects the north of England with the Isle of Man using a high speed ferry service. The seasonal Liverpool Douglas route is the fastest from the Isle of Man. Crossings take around 2 hours and 30 minutes. All services are offered on fast ferries. Please note - This is a seasonal service that only runs at weekends during quieter periods of the year. The vast Port of Liverpool now owned by Peel Holdings is one of the UK's major Ports & covers both banks of the River Mersey, both in Liverpool & Birkenhead. The Port handles over 32 million tonnes of freight a year, including one third of all freight moving between Britain & Ireland. Birkenhead's dock system is part of the Port of Liverpool, operated by the Mersey Docks and Harbour Company. The Twelve Quays ferry terminal allows a direct freight and passenger service to Dublin, Republic of Ireland and Belfast, Northern Ireland. The Mersey Ferry at Woodside runs a passenger service to Liverpool, as well as chartered cruising.
During winter months, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company operates a service from Birkenhead to Douglas using the MS Ben-my-Chree. Due to weather conditions, this service temporarily replaces the route that normally operates from the Liverpool landing stage using fast craft.

Douglas is the capital and largest town of the Isle of Man, with a population of over 25,000. It is located at the mouth of the River Douglas, and a sweeping bay of two miles. The River Douglas forms part of the town's harbour and main commercial port. The ferry terminal is situated on the waterfront, on Central Promenade, right in the heart of the city.

Isle of Man - Liverpool - Steam Packet offer 14 Crossings a week from Liverpool with a seasonal fast craft service with a journey time of 2 hours and 30 minutes as well as a standard weekend ferry service out of season with a longer journey time.
