Jersey Port Ferry Overview
The Port of Jersey lies at the southern end of the island in the capital city of St Helier on St Aubin's Bay. Facilities at the port include several eateries and shops, including duty-free outlets. The Bailiwick of Jersey is a British Crown dependency off the coast of Normandy, France. As well as the island of Jersey itself, the bailiwick includes the nearly uninhabited islands of the Minquiers, Écréhous, the Pierres de Lecq and other rocks and reefs. Together with the bailiwick of Guernsey it forms the grouping known as the Channel Islands.
Ferry services from Jersey are comprehensive and operated by Condor Ferries and Emeraude Jersey Ferries, with regular return sailings to French and English destinations, as well as to the island of Guernsey. Three services run to the UK mainland, including to Portsmouth, Poole, and Weymouth; one service to St Malo in France and the other inter-island service to Guernsey.
The Jersey to St Malo fast ferry is the busiest in-season route and is operated by Condor Ferries and Emeraude Jersey Ferries. There are as many as five daily return crossings between the months of March and October. The crossing time is a mere 1 hour, 15 minutes. |
