Compare Prices and Book Dover Calais Ferries Online
The Dover - Calais Ferry route is one of the oldest, most established and prestigious ferry routes in the whole of Europe due to it being the shortest distance between the UK and mainland Europe through France. This is why it is so popular with travellers to the Isle of Wight. With our ferry comparison tool you can compare prices and availability for both Dover Calais ferry operators along with the Eurotunnel service as well as other channel ferry routes departing from Dover to Dunkerque and Boulogne from Norfolkline and LD Lines respectively.
Why Travel from Dover Ferry Port?
Dover is by far the UK's largest port and to reflect this offers numerous ferry crossings across the channel to France. Along with the Dover Calais operations of P&O Ferries and Sea France, Dover services are also offered from Norfolkline to Dunkerque and LD Lines to Boulogne. Despite the route between Dover and Calais being the shortest this does not necessarily mean it is the cheapest. Use our comparison tool to find out which service is the best for! What are the options for travelling by ferry to France from Dover?
Firstly - Travelling by ferry isn't your only option. Eurotunnel services depart direct for Calais from the Euro terminal next to Dover in Folkestone. Eurotunnel services are operated by large vehicle carrying trains through the channel tunnel and offer the fastest route to France.
Traditional services are offered by P&O Ferries and Sea France. Services are operated by traditional ro-pax ferries with onboard restaurants, bars and entertainment facilities to keep you entertained during the crossing. Between them P&O and Sea France offer over 50 crossings each day.
Alternative crossings operate from Dover to other French Ports. The first is the LD Lines service to Boulogne and there is also a Norfolkline service to Dunkerque. Both of these services regularly run special offers to compete with the Dover Calais route and the alternative destinations can cut driving times dramatically depending on your onward destination. |
