LD Lines Channel Ferry Crossings
LD Lines are one of the biggest Cross Channel ferry companies offering a number of services between the UK and France. All services are designed to be convenient services bringing you closer to the main destinations than the shorter Dover - Calais crossing.
LD Lines has developed a reputation of being an all round frequent, reliable operator offering fantastic value-for-money services. LD Lines offer very competitive pricing with prices sometimes as low as £10 for foot passengers one way. All services are offered onboard high quality vessels with attentive staff and plentiful services. |
LD Lines currently offer 4 routes. Services operate between Portsmouth & Le Havre, Dover & Boulogne and the new Ramsgate Ostend route. Services are also offered between Newhaven & Dieppe through LD Lines' sister services Transmanche Ferries.
LD Lines stands for Louis Dreyfus Lines a subsidiary of the large shipping company Louis Dreyfus Armateurs SAS. LD Lines started running the former P&O route between Portsmouth and Le Havre in September 2005 and now along with their sister company, Transmanche Ferries offer a total of 4 cross channel ferry services as well as an additional service connecting Saint-Nazaire on the West Coast of France with Gijon in Northern Spain.
The LD Lines Fleet of Ferries
LD Lines' fleet consists of the Ostend Spirit (Formally known as the Norman Spirit), the brand new Norman Leader and the fast ferry catamaran Norman Arrow, the largest ever high speed ferry to cross the English Channel. In addition to this, the Transmanche Ferries services are operated by sister ships the Côte d'Albâtre and the Seven Sisters.
All vessels are fully equipped with the vary best in onboard facilities. LD Lines pride themselves on their fleet and are therefore maintained to very high standards. You can choose from highly comfortable private cabins (with air-con and fresh bedding), Club Class reclining seats or standard reclining seats. LD Lines ships offer a choice of bars, restaurants and shops as well as a cinema, a business lounge, and wi-fi access. |

Please note: The route between Dieppe (France) and Newhaven (England) is operated by LD Lines' sister service Transmanche Ferries.
LD Lines ceased operating the Dover/Dieppe route on 29th June 2009, and the Rosslare/Le Havre route on 18th September 2009. Celtic Link Ferries now offer a service between Rosslare and Cherbourg using the LD Lines vessel Norman Voyager. |
